The detailed Process of Incubation
(Uddyam - PAHSUIC) Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University Incubation Center is designed to provide a facilitator to nascent entrepreneurs who wish to launch themselves into the world of technology-based business careers. Innovators and Entrepreneurs have the bright ideas to develop a product, trainings, modules, businesses or services using modern and advanced technology solutions through Solapur University Start-up Mission. Uddyam PAHSUIC will provide entrepreneurs all the support to make technology-based business projects or ventures successful.
The mostly innovative and productive environment of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University provides entrepreneurs the right environment to build up technology ventures at international standards. PAHSUIC is focused to high tech start-ups with technology products and innovations with in a limited time frame that literally makes the entrepreneur to seriously work on his product idea and encourage him/her to come up with a market viable prototype. The process of incubation will work under three stages:
- Pre-Incubation Stage (approx. 3-12 months)
This stage mainly focuses on ideation stage, where the technologist having a potential innovative idea and that can be provided with a co-working space. In the pre-incubation period, the entrepreneurs will take up the role of a ‘technocrat’ who extends the idea into a proof of concept or construct a module and prepares himself/herself for understanding the technical feasibility of the idea proposed. Several potential innovations or start-up teams may come out of this co-working ecosystem. PAHSUIC will supports to the start-ups or innovators by mentoring through their guides / teachers or by creating right platform for networking. Once a marketable technology/product idea is evolved, a company can be formed and PAHSUIC can look at for Incubation Stage.
The aims of the pre-incubator at the Solapur University are:
1) To create a “culture of entrepreneurship” within the university, its affiliated
colleges and in Solapur and neighbouring districts
2) To increase the number of products and their by-products
3) To create sustainable and cost effective academic spin-offs
4) To qualify academic entrepreneurs to found and to manage a company on their
own
5) To provide learning experience / school for startups
- Incubation Stage (approx. 1-5 years)
The period of incubation stage will be approx. 1-5 years where start-up companies join for development of product and prepare themselves for marketing. During this stage, the innovator or entrepreneur will take the role of a ‘Techno-preneur’, who brings all his efforts (such as technology, team, seed money) to build a market viable prototype. At this stage PAHSUIC will allot them specific space and infrastructure facilities along with funds or grants as applicable under PAHSUIC schemes and right mentorships. UICS will offer a wide collection of value added services like entrepreneur trainings and workshops, skill development programmes, leadership programmes, Research and Development facilities, International tie-ups etc to speed up the incubation cycle. The incubation stage enables the entrepreneur to be ready with an ‘innovative technology’ in the form of marketable product that can primarily drive the market, and which is easy to pitch before an investor in future.
PAHSUIC shall assist the innovator in getting grants from central and state funding agencies viz. CSIR, DST, DBT, MeitY, AICTE, UGC, Angle funding, Crowd funding, Venture Capitals etc for the success of projects or ventures
- Accelerator Stage (approx. 1-3 years)
This stage will be of about 1-3 years, and this will be a business tools box and a
holistic business advisory service, resembling the traditional management consulting
or mentoring, but adjusted to fit for the startups.
The focus of accelerator stage shall be on fast growth and to sort out all
organizational, operational, financial and strategic difficulties that may be facing the
business under UDDYAM – PAHSUIC guidance through a highly systematic approach. Finally,
the startup shall be presented to investors (Strategic & Financial).
Table shows the year-wise projected statistics such as startups selected for preincubation
stage, conversion of those in pre-incubation to incubation stage, startups
moving to acceleration stage and the startups successfully graduating in five years.
